Classes start at approximately 9 am and finish around 6 pm. All river equipment except wetsuits and transportation to and from the river are included in the price. Farmer john wetsuits are available for rental for an additional $10. Students must bring their own lunch and water. Beginning WhitewaterHaven't you always wanted to try it? This 2-day class is structured to give you the necessary foundation to paddle Class II whitewater in hardshell kayaks. On Day 1, our helpful, experienced instructors will start you out on calm water learning the basic strokes and boat handling skills, such as eddy turns and ferrys. By Day 2, you'll amaze yourself with your progress as we review basic strokes and introduce new skills like scouting rapids and recognizing river features. Includes an afternoon run down some lively Class II whitewater. Price: $199. Introduction to Quietwater PaddlingThis is a fun, half-day class for anyone who wants to learn how to paddle a kayak or canoe on lakes or slow moving rivers. You will learn basic strokes, safety and self-rescue skills for recreational paddling. Open to canoes, sit-on-tops & touring/recreational kayaks. Price: $49. |
